Many experienced teachers will probably
admit that they rarely use scripted lesson plans for their lessons, either
as they have repeated the same ones over again or they simply do not have
the time.
However, I cannot express how important it is to make sure your
lessons are planned especially if you are covering new ground or with
a difficult class.
Lesson plans should generally follow a basic outline which contain the
following:
Class details
Objective
Literacy / Numeracy links
Timed activities (including starters + plenaries)
Homework tasks
How you will use support staff (TAs or technicians)
If ever you are being observed particular notice will be taken to your
lesson objectives and whether you pupils have managed to achieve them.
That means you also have to consider how you will assess their
achievement as well as provide decent content.
