What Type of Tech Teacher Are You?

Answer the following 8 questions to determine what kind of Tech Teacher you are!
  1. The lesson is about to begin and your class are shouting outside the classroom, what do you do?

  2. Scream "shut uuuuuup" at the top of your lungs!
    Just open the door and get them in the classroom straight away
    Tell them that every minute you wait, they will make it up at break time

  3. The class have come into the classroom, what's the first thing you do?

  4. Start taking the register or talking over the class
    Hand out a suitable starter activity to keep them quiet while you register
    Yell at them to be silent and start handing out detentions.

  5. Pupils are doing practical in the workshop. You spot Johnny throw a piece of wood across the room, what do you do?

  6. Call him over and talk to him in private, report the incident or award other sanction.
    Scream at the child, call him names and remove him from the classroom
    Ignore it, it's not worth the trouble

  7. Your boss has asked you to write a scheme of work but you're so swamped and don't feel able to meet his deadline. What do you do?

  8. Pass on the responsibility to someone else in the department
    Get upset and leave it until the last minute before doing a poor job of it
    Make a good start but ask for an extension if you really need it

  9. Your GCSE class are being rather lazy and you are concerned they won't all pass their coursework, what do you do?

  10. Demand they all come back every lunch and after school to get the work done
    Give up your free time but only for those pupils who are willing to put their share of the work in
    Leave them to it, if they're lazy that's their problem

  11. You have set a detention for a pupil, what do you get them to do?

  12. Clean up the workshop, demanding that every piece of gum is off the tables too
    Get them to write lines or explain why their behaviour was unacceptable
    Let the pupil sit there doing nothing

  13. You need to set homework, how do you do it?

  14. Shout it out at the end of the lesson while they're packing away
    At the start of the lesson, copying from the board allowing time for questions
    Demand their homework is due the next day or you will set detentions

  15. It's 5 minutes until the bell goes and the pupils are packing away. How do you end the lesson?

  16. Allow them to chat amongst themselves
    Have them sitting in silence waiting for the bell
    Finish off the lesson with a quiz which reinforces what was learnt in the lesson

8 -15 you are "Soft Sam"
16 - 20 you are "Firm Fran"
21 - 24 you are "Tough Tony"
